Project Manager Gantt Chart

Q: I’ve been playing with project manager. It’s not bad, but I’m finding plenty of bugs and limitations. For one thing, clicking “support” on the top right didn’t bring up the support page. Eventually I went back to the “get started” menu!

One thing that we frequently need to do is to insert gantt charts into client proposals. Can this be done from project management templates? In MS Project you simply click on a button and save the task table as a GIF or other graphic format. If not this is a significant limitation that would make me reconsider subscribing to project manager.

I would also like to be able to work offline (for example on a plane), which doesn’t appear to be possible.

Great idea though, I think it will be a winner when some bugs are ironed out.

A: Thanks for getting in touch. The bugs you’ve mentioned concern us, as there are almost no known bugs in the system. Are you using a browser other than IE or Firefox? That would explain it.

In terms of printing the Gantt as a JPG, it’s a good idea and I have forwarded it through to the Development Team for consideration. The reason it’s not been asked for to date is that most people that want to do that, probably just take screenshots of the Gantt via their PC, as it’s quick and easy to do currently. I can explain how to take a screenshot if you want, just let me know.

Regarding working offline, yes it’s is possible, this version is an online application. However we have also released a Desktop version of the Tasks page so that you can plan your project plan offline.
